Welcome to
cy-IC
What is in a name? Well in this case a message. IC stands for Intellectual Capital. The most valuable asset a company has; Possibly also the least recognised and almost certainly the most badly managed asset.
cy? Well that is my cryptic way of saying "see why". So the name has the double entendre of "See why I see" and "See why IC".
In spite of frequent reference to terms such as the knowledge economy, core competence, emergent strategies and others, most people have not yet grasped the significance of intellectual capital and how it is the basis of organisational intelligence. Without organisational intelligence there is no way to successfully compete in the knowledge economy.
Skandia, the multibillion dollar Swedish Insurance Company, has been one of the prime promoters of the concept of IC and they summarise their view as
:IC the future
cy - IC
is my personal attempt to promulgate management awareness of this exciting field. All progressive managers, be they in the public or private sectors, in schools, hospitals, business or any other area of the knowledge economy must learn the language which will be needed to describe the real issues they now face.No language
, no words, no grasp, no action and no hope.In the three sections that follow I hope to give you an appreciation of why I make these claims.
